A H1N1 Casualty In Pampanga (JBL Hospital, San Fernando)

Earlier today, I have received several awareness-dispersing text messages, all stating that there is already an influenza A (H1N1) virus casualty at Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital (JBL) in San Fernando, Pampanga and said that the victim is from Angeles city. All of us at home were alarmed when I told everyone about the bad news. Though it is not yet totally confirmed, we should all be aware of this as prevention always is better than cure.

Since influenza A (H1N1) as any other virus is air-borne, we must be very cautious especially when we go to public places. If necessary, wear face masks so that the air you breathe will be filtered adding up to your safety. And also, let's all make it a habit to wash our hands religiously because most of the time we unintentionally touch our mouth either by eating or mannerisms.

Should you feel any of the symptoms of this virus, immediately go to the nearest hospital and have everything screened on you so that it can be treated on its early stage.

Kris Allen Wins American Idol Season 8

The long wait is over. American Idol season 8 took the wrap by declaring Kris Allen as the newest to the group in line with Kelly Clarkson (2002), Ruben Studdard (2003), Fantasia Barrino (2004), Carrie Underwood (2005), Taylor Hicks (2006), Jordin Sparks (2007) and David Cook (2008).

Kris was made known on the wide variety of instruments that he can play. He has been compared to the singing style of Jason Mraz and did numerous performances with his guitar, adding up a twist on each piece by giving his own unique rendition. His strong faith as a Christian and a worship leader made him the last man standing on the idol stage. FYI, he has done missionary works in countries such as Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain and Thailand. Competed with Adam Lambert for the title, twenty-three year old and newly wed Kris from Arkansas proved to the judges that He really is the next American Idol from the time he auditioned at Louiseville, Kentucky singing "A Song For You" and performed consistently great every idols night.

Adam Vs. Kris: American Idol Season 8 Pre-finals

American Idol Season 8 is now down to two contenders. It has to be Adam Lambert or Kris Allen. Performing for the pre-finale, both have received praises and honors from the judges. Adam's first on stage sang Mad World. All judges liked the performance except that Simon commented as a little bit over theatrical and it reminded him of Phantom of the Opera. Kris did Ain't no Sunshine and according to Randy, it was one of his best performances ever. Kris took over on round one according to Simon.

For the second song, A Change is Gonna Come for Adam and What's Goin' On for Kris. Simon grants round two to Adam. Paula said it's the best she has ever heard Adam sing and thinks he will be an iconic star.

And for the third and last song, both sang No Boundaries. Simon told Adam that he has been the best contestant this season has ever had and the idea of doing this show is it can find a worldwide star. And from Simon, too, watching Kris perform on the stage tonight has been incredible.

Tomorrow will be the much awaited big finale for American Idol season 8. America will have to choose between Adam and Kris. It's between the acoustic rocker from Conway and the glam rocker from California.

My Painfully Motivating First Day at the Gym

Almost everything that we eat nowadays comprises of artificial additives or preservatives and no wonder the average lifespan to date is getting lower and shorter. I must admit that I too am trapped into eating unhealthy foods.

Yesterday while I was at home, a friend invited me to enroll in a nearby gym (Abs and Curves near AUF). Right after we had ourselves massaged, we went on to the gym and started the healthy play. The activity lasted for an hour and a half. My shirt was dripping with sweat and I was so exhausted that all I wanted then was to look for a bed and have a sweet sleep. The gym trainer told me that normally, I would feel muscle pains in 2 to 3 days after which the next sessions will be easier and simple.

My Say on JJ Abrams' 2009 Star Trek Movie

Yesterday, we were able to watch the Star Trek Movie by JJ Abrams. It was action-packed and full of twists because unlike the original star trek movie that focused more on the soft side which is love and companionship, this version focused on adventure, battle and a little bit of humor.

The main cast however, were not of big names especially the lead star (Chris Pine who played James T. Kirk) but I'm sure, after this movie, he will be a pin up. Overall, the movie was fantastic, young or old will find it interesting. I would definitely recommend it to movie lovers and Star Trek fans.

Boracay Vacation 2009

At last we're back in Pampanga. I really enjoyed our four-day Boracay vacation plus the travel itself. We strolled the four-kilometer white sand and hopped to all four stations and it's fun fun fun! It's so good to have this kind of vacation especially when with great friends to unwind and shake off stresses and fatigue. Boracay is a perfect place to have a relaxing and peaceful vacation. Foreigners are everywhere enjoying the place and I think everyone particularly us Filipinos must see and appreciate the beauty of our country because Philippines has the best treasures and natural resources that can never be found anywhere but only here. At the same time, we should all be responsible in protecting these national treasures so that its beauty will be maintained and preserved.
