I am actually in Boracay right now while I'm writing this blog. We just had our dinner so we decided to take a few walk outside and look for a bar to hang on. We happened to pass by this internet cafe near our hotel and since I can't help but blog about my vacation here that is why I decided to browse the web for an hour and to check mails as well. It's my first time to be here and I have to admit that Boracay, really is a beautiful place. I really enjoyed the island, the white sand, the bars, night parties and all. I so love life here because every night becomes a party night. I get to spend quality time with my friends, too.

We came here yesterday via Philippine Airlines. Then a one-hour trip via van from Aklan airport followed by a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay's white sand beach. The trip was fascinating because we experienced all modes of transportation from Manila to Boracay: by land, air and water.

The first day was a whole lot of fun because as soon as we arrived, we had a quick lunch then we quickly toured around the four kilometer-wide white sand beach of Boracay. Then during the night we met some other friends and hopped on a nearby bar and enjoyed the spirits of liquors. We also bought raw food at the famous "D*Talipapa" market and we've had the food cooked right then and there. Sea food is just perfect! I have always been a fan of sea foods that is why I always go crazy every meal time. Lol. Oysters and lobsters are everywhere!

After this surfing and blogging, we will head on to another bar not too far from here to have again another bonding and nice talks with friends. Too bad I don't have the PC connectivity for my camera but I will post pictures as soon as I'm home. :)

Earthquake Tragedy Struck Central Italy

Tragedy struck central Italy as an extremely powerful earthquake killed at least unofficial 50 people, thousands left homeless and others still missing. The epicenter of the earthquake reportedly hit L'Aquila in the region of Abruzzo not too far from Rome.

According to officials, death toll could not be finalized yet as it would still continue to rise since more buildings were damaged leaving many still missing. People in most part of central Italy were devastated by the earthquake and even Rome who barely gets affected by seismic activity reportedly was woken by the shakes.

The US Geological Survey measured it on the Richter to be 6.3 in magnitude somehow quite conflicting with Italy's National Institute for Geophysics' 5.8 magnitude.

Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi already declared a state of emergency.

Let's hope and pray for the successful recovery of those that were still trapped inside ruined structures.

Ciara Medina Garcia at 18

It's already 6:30 in the evening and I was still driving and stuck in traffic battling to head on to the venue. Early on that day though, I was advised by the organizers that participants of the 18 roses dance should come at exactly 6:30 because that part will launch the party so at least we can prepare ahead of time. Unfortunately, we came in just a few minutes late, since I got a little trouble with the car at the same time I had to fetch a friend who's coming with me. Unlike what I expected on my previous blog about Ciara's debut, the celebration was held at the luxurious Grand Palazzo Royale in Angeles city just near Clarkfield. Actually, even though we were late, we came in just right in time for the party because when we got in there, the party hasn't started yet. So we got a little time to get prepared and fix ourselves.

The guests, I can say included some of the big names that I know, from a provincial mayor, to tycoons which I think some are business partners of Mekeni, also some of her friends and classmates were there, just to name a few.

I was the 8th dance of Ciara from the 18 roses and it's like my nerves were killing me while I was dancing with her having this feeling that everyone's eyes were on us. She was so stunning on her gown and I kept on saying that to her while we were dancing. I haven't met her for quite a while so we had a little talk while dancing, too.

Ciara's dad, by the way is the 2nd cousin of my aunt who also lives in Porac. And I have spent several summer vacations with my cousins there then. Since Ciara lives not too far from my cousins, I always saw her stroll around our streets especially during the fiesta. That's how I got to know her.

Going back to the debut celebration, knowing Ciara who loves to perform, she had several dance numbers and I can say she's amazingly great in dancing! I really loved her performances.

The celebration ended at around past midnight and indeed, it is one of the best debut party I have ever witnessed. It's one night that I will never forget.

Rumor has it that Hollywood celebrity couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will spend a week vacation at a new five-star international resort of Shangri-La Hotel in Boracay sometime this Holy Week. According to the news, there was this US registered private plane that arrived at NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) last Friday, seemingly, the Hollywood couple weren't there. But reports said that a representative of the couple booked a room at the hotel though it was not confimed if it’s really for the Hollywood couple.

Here are all other rumors that left Brangelina fans especially Filipino fans crazily and excitingly puzzled:

1. Brangelina will grace the soft opening of this newly opened 5-star hotel of Shangri-La.
   
2. Joy Wassmer, reportedly used by Jolie as an alias booked a suite at the hotel for a week.
   
3. The couple will bring with them at least 8 bodyguards, 3 of them being female disguised in beach outfit.
   

I kinda felt excited since we will also be spending a week vacation at Boracay this month and gives me goosebumps whenever I fantasize the idea of meeting them face to face. Dream-Home Come True

My cousins migrated to the United States when I was still in elementary. I really miss them so much. Back when they were still with us, we used to hang around and play all day. We have not seen each other for about ten years now but we frequently communicate either by phone or through chat.

The last time we talked, he told me that they are going to move to their new house. I was really surprised about it and got curious on how their house looks like. EXCEL, Red-handed on the March 2009 ECE Board Exam Leakage?

An alleged exam leakage was reported days after the Electronics Engineering (ECE) Board Exam held on March 28 and 29, 2009. The said examinees who exposed this issue were asking for a re-take and protested that EXCEL review center disseminated review materials that according to them were exact replica of the exam.

I was also once an ECE reviewee and enrolled at PERCdc, one great competitor of EXCEL. These two review centers, by the way are two of the most popular in Sampaloc, Manila when it comes to ECE review. So I suggest you review on these two to get the best of both worlds. During my stay then, students reviewing from EXCEL always bragged about their "closed-door" review, that according to them will never de discussed in any other review centers. The session was so strict that students were asked to leave their cellphones and were not allowed to bring any items even the smallest piece of paper. And since we have friends there, we were fortunate enough to have an idea on what are these items that were being discussed on that "closed-door" thingy.

Actually, I am quite positive that the items they have discussed during our time were not really exam leakage. Review centers do perform cycle study of the exam. When I say cycle study, review schools have these research teams that perform in-dept sudy of past exams. Also every bit of resources, from the covered area up to the points to study is legally provided by the examiners prior to the exam, like what books do the examiners use in preparing the exam, and the like. Therefore, since they have studied the previous exams, there is a great possibility of predicting the questions that might appear on the next exam.

By the way, for your information, it is illegal to disclose the exam content as a part of the pledge that examinees have to agree on before the exam. So, where do they get the copies of the previous exams? According to my know-how, they get these information from their previous students, who somehow contributes to the review centers by recalling as many questions as they can. Quite complicated, right? Well, that's what I know and what I hear from my other colleagues.

However on this issue, they were saying that the review materials that were distributed by EXCEL were exact copies of the board exam. If that is so, I really can't attest whether this issue can be saved by the conclusion that I provided. But I guess that's basically my simplest explanation on why review centers can provide questions similar to the actual exam.
