One of my personal favorites but never made it to be among the top finalists is the 22-year old Miss Russia, Xenia Podsevatkina. This lovely blonde is a student at the European University in Switzerland and loves art such as charcoal and ink drawing. One of her dreams is to put up her own chartable foundation so she can help people in her own way. I followed the long episode of the pageant and Miss Russia was consistently beautiful from the pre-pageant up to the coronation night. I think she is gorgeous and has a unique style so as the other delegates.

For me, they are all winners of their own countries. I am looking forward to the next Russian representative on Miss Earth 2010.

Vacation Checklist: Things I Bring on a Beach Break

After many days of hard work that you spend in the office, there comes a point where you feel so wasted that all you want to do is to break free and just stop working. Our everyday routine, whether at home or at work sometimes really gets too boring and makes us feel all burnt out.

That's what vacations are for- to unwind, relax and shake off that accumulated stress we got in the office. Going out to the beach with our family is everybody's choice in spending the holidays. As what others do, I have this checklist that I accomplish before leaving for a vacation. What are the things we need to bring when going out to make vacation worthwhile? Here is my personal checklist that I carry out when going out to the beach:

I make sure that I bring a lot of beachwear because I change a lot and I love swimming more than any other leisure or sports. While staying at the hotel sometimes is boring, I bring tents also, so that we can spend the night near the shore with camp fire, marshmallows and some great talks, of course. And like any other techy guys out there, I don't forget my cyber friends wherever I go so I always bring a netbook or laptop with me to keep everyone updated.

Manny Pacquiao Moments as He Wins Over Miguel Cotto

Congratulations to People's Champ Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao for winning against Puerto Rican Miguel Angel Cotto. It was a blood rushing 12 rounds of fight as Pacquiao took over from rounds two to twelve. Cotto failed to bring down the Pound-for-Pound boxing hero. After overpowering some of the boxing champs, Manny really deserves to be called The Greatest Fighter of All Time.

I salute Cotto as well for being a tough fighter because he was able to survive the Pacman punches up to the last round. However, referee Kenny Bayless had to stop the fight and declared it to be a technical knock-out in favor of Manny. Manny Pacquiao yet again made history by becoming the 1st fighter to win seven world titles in seven weight divisions.

2012 - A Modern Day Noah's Ark (Arks rather)

Last Friday the 13th, a couple of friends and I agreed to watch 2012. It's a cool idea to see it on a Friday the 13th because it somehow added up an extra dread to me while I was watching it.

The movie as what you have seen on the trailer, is indeed a disaster movie with an "end of the world" some sort of effect and there are a lot of scenes that will leave you breathless. There is no question about the cinematography because for me, it was perfectly engineered and the effects are great.

I was literally shivering and a bit teary eyed somewhere on the first part of the movie and freaked out even more when the ground started cracking up, eating all the houses and knocking down the tall buildings everywhere. It really felt real and I'm still having the chills up to now while writing about it.

Well, enough of it so as not to sound like a spoiler. The bottom line here is you really need to see the movie and watch how the dog made it to the ark (hahaha). But seriously, it's a must-see masterpiece.

New Dinosaur Species Discovered in South Africa

Coffee Cruise at Beatico Cafe Clark

It was another boring day at home few days ago so I went on to fetch a friend who will be out for work. It was already around 9 in the evening and drizzling outside so we just decided to kill time over a cup of coffee at Beatico Cafe in SM City clark.

We always hang out at Beatico Cafe in Balibago but it was our first time here in their SM Clark branch. Our orders: hot Hazelnut Mocha and Cafe Mocha Mint both from their list of best sellers. As a critique of anything and everything, I always go for new blend and concoction so at least I can assess the difference and share it to friends and readers who haven't tried it yet. I think I was born to criticize and scrutinize (laughs).

Going back, the place is quite small but still has that relaxing feel since the inside is isolated thus preventing noise and smoke from getting in. There are also chairs from its open air vicinity (smoking area) but since we don't smoke, we preferred to stay inside and read their magazines and newspapers. It's been quite a while since I read in prints due to the free news updates that sell like hotcakes over the Internet and I can say that nothing still beats reading from a papyrus material.
